Course Name: Ecumenical Theology Theory & Praxis
Course Code: CHEF 300
Description: Ecumenical Theology has evolved throughout Christian history, initially serving as a response to secularism and now aiming for visible unity among diverse Christian denominations and within broader religious pluralism. Ecumenism refers to efforts toward unity and cooperation among Christian Churches. This course emphasizes the relevance of ecumenism in today’s ever-changing world, especially in contexts like Trinidad where Churches have continually adapted. Students will define ecumenism, examine its theological roots, and explore both regional and global ecumenical movements. The course also aims to strengthen students’ understanding of their own and others’ Christian traditions, equipping them with tools for lifelong ministry and interdenominational engagement.
