Pastoral Counselling
People today face a wide range of personal, family, and spiritual challenges that require compassionate care, wise guidance, and a listening ear. St. Andrew's Theological College's Pastoral Counselling course is designed to equip participants with foundational counselling knowledge and practical skills to minister effectively in a variety of settings.
This course introduces participants to the basic theories and practices of counselling while exploring a biblical and pastoral approach to caring for others. Students will learn how to respond with empathy, maintain appropriate boundaries, and provide support to individuals experiencing emotional, relational, and spiritual difficulties.
The course examines counselling situations commonly encountered in the home, the church, schools, workplaces, community groups, and other environments where people interact. It also emphasizes the ministry of pastoral care, enabling participants to offer Christ-centred support, encouragement, and hope while recognising when professional referral may be necessary.

The Old Testament Theology/ Biblical Theology course invites students to explore the theological message of the Old Testament through careful academic study and biblical reflection. Throughout this course, students will gain a deeper understanding of God's self-revelation as presented in the thirty-nine books of the Old Testament. Emphasis is placed on the major theological themes and doctrines that emerge from these writings, including God's covenant relationship with His people, His character, His purposes in history, and His unfolding plan of redemption.

Conflict Management
Conflict is an inevitable part of human relationships, but when managed effectively, it can become an opportunity for growth, healing, and reconciliation. The Conflict Management course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills to understand the nature of conflict, identify its root causes, and apply effective strategies for achieving constructive resolution.
Throughout the course, students will explore the sources and dynamics of conflict, the factors that contribute to its escalation, and the personal, relational, and societal consequences of unresolved disputes. Particular attention is given to the impact of conflict on individuals, families, churches, workplaces, communities, and society as a whole, with consideration of the types of conflict commonly encountered within the local context.
A central focus of the course is mediation as a preferred approach to conflict resolution. Participants will examine principles and techniques of mediation, communication, negotiation, and reconciliation, while developing the confidence to respond to conflict with wisdom, fairness, and compassion.
